1. Move More: make it a daily challenge to find ways to move your body. Climb stairs if given a choice between that and escalators or elevators.  Walk your dog, chase your kids, toss a football with friends, mow the lawn, etc.  Solution: If you find it hard to make yourself more, hire a trainer! I guarantee you that an Ignite Fitness trainer will move you!

2. Cut out Sugars and Starches: Avoid the obvious such as fried foods, fast foods, candy, ice cream and pizza.  Simple carbohydrates, such as sugar and flour, are easily converted into glucose-too easily. Consuming them sends a rush of glucose into your blood stream, creating a “sugar high.” Then the glucose leaves your body as quickly as it entered. You crash and are just as fatigued and hungry as you were before you ate. Solution: eat fruit!!

3. Reduce Stress: Easier said than done, stress buster come in many forms. Spend 30 minutes a day doing something you like.  Exercise with an Ignite personal trainer, soak in a hot tub, read a good book, visit a friend, play with your dog, listen to soothing music, watch a funny movie. Come to Ignite for a massage or a haircut from Patty.  Meditate. Count to ten before losing your temper or getting aggravated. Avoid difficult people when possible.  There’s a definitive connection between living well and healthfully and having a cheerful outlook on life. You can’t be unhappy when you’re smiling.
