As humans, we float around in a sack made from water for roughly 9 months. Once we grace this world with our presence, our body is comprised of 75%-78% of water, by year one it drops to about 65%. As we age that percentage drops to about 55%. The moral of this is very simple…the human body is more than half water!

Now, how does this relate to health and fitness?!

General guidelines are to drink 17 to 20 ounces of water 2 to 3 hours before exercising, another 8 ounces during your warm-up (or 20 to 30 minutes before exercising), 7 to 10 ounces every 10 to 20 minutes during exercise, and 8 ounces of water within 30 minutes after exercising.
